The Fine Arts Discovery Series Mission Statement

The Fine Arts Discovery Series is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the Arts to young children and their families.  The series began in 1990 as the realization of a dream to provide area youth with the experience of live performance.  Our efforts have been rewarded by seeing the expressions of awe and wonder on the faces of the children.

The unique format of the concerts gives each child the opportunity to speak with the artists and to view the instruments and props more closely at the conclusion of the performance.  Many of the performances are preceded by workshops, giving participants an opportunity for their own creative expression and insight into the forthcoming show.

It has been our hope that these experiences will serve to inspire our youth and foster a lifelong appreciation of the performing arts.
